The Anschutz Family Foundation comes into contact with thousands of people across Colorado who choose to focus their energies on any number of issues to improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities. Because of our exposure to the commitment, belief, and compassion that plays out every day across this great state, we are reminded daily of the incredible resiliency and generosity of the human spirit of the people of our state. 

Those character traits were clearly evident in the heroic community response to the devastating tornado that ripped through Holly in March of 2007. For me, their individual and collective actions epitomize the strength, courage, and resiliency that are possible, even in the face of disaster, and reflect the true American spirit. I am so impressed by the attitudes of the residents of Holly and their ability to roll-up their sleeves to rebuild their town.

Additional evidence of the strength of our communities is found in the list of our 2007 grantees. Within each organization lies an impassioned, committed, and skilled group of individuals who come together to advance an important mission. We cannot begin to express our gratitude to all of you who are dedicated to the quality and character of our communities and state.
